Alpacas
An amazing thing happens when you bring home your first alpacas.
Your life takes on a new meaning, you find yourself enjoying the little things a lot more, and sitting in your backyard becomes a bigger part of your day than it ever used to be.
Your heart melts when those big eyes look up at you as you hand feed your new babies. You run your fingers through their fiber and wistfully look forward to wearing your first alpaca sweater from your first alpaca.
They slip quietly into your life, and gradually they become your life.
Then your first cria comes and captures your heart once more, and you experience that first-day-home feeling all over again.
The Alpaca lifestyle captures the best people from all walks of life, who decide to break out of their stressful corporate worlds and settle into the business of being an alpaca breeder.
Because not only is it the best lifestyle you can imagine, but it can be highly profitable as well!
Who invests in Alpacas?
According to AOBA (Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association) survey results, the average Alpaca owner is above average in education and income level.
They are professionals: doctors, lawyers, teachers, real estate professionals, programmers, engineers, and more than a few veterinarians.
There are also many farmers who have discovered the vastly superior income potential of alpacas over other livestock.
There are handspinners who own alpacas just for the fiber; and others who began breeding alpacas after learning the superior qualities of alpaca fiber through fiber arts.
And there are at least two waiters who own alpacas.
Alpaca breeders are a normal cross-section of society, with one common thread: a desire for a lifestyle that includes a tranquil country setting with country values, and the potential for outstanding return on investment.
