About Us

We are two IT Professionals, Maria & Sam, who both work hard but like to escape from the high pace to enjoy our country retreat.

One of us is lucky enough to work from a home office right here on the farm and the other hopes to do the same soon.

As a large land owner our cat "Princess Sorsha" now decide her title should now be changed to "Empress Sorsha".
So let it be written so let it be done!

Since we bought our farm we have adopted a chicken and a rooster who in turn have created what we lovingly refer to as
"The Chicken Horde". Tho we did lose a few chickens in the early days to the "Real Sneaky Fox" who hid in the long grass near the chicken coop and waited for the unwary exploring chickens to get too close. We have since stopped this from happening.

Thor our beautiful 18.2hh Percheron was next to take up residence on our property but he had to wait until we could clear the field closest to the house and put up fencing for a corral.
At 50 years old we both decided to take on the challenge of a new residence and all the work associated with rebuilding a farm that has not been used as a farm for many years.

What a crazy idea ... and at the same time a wonderful idea.

Life in Northumberland County is great!

Not sure if I am used to all this fresh air yet, but I am trying to cope.
Philosophy
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand - strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
